Well, 2017 was a busy year. I think this may be my first post in almost exactly a year, so there's that.
I plan on writing some stuff up about what I've been up to in the last year, but some standouts are graduating from Notre Dame with honors, instructing a Girls Who Code summer coding bootcamp, and starting my PhD at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Aside from all those milestones, I've realized that living and breathing computer science for 24 hours a day was wearing me out and causing my anxiety levels to rise, so I'm trying something new.
I'm going to start blogging about creative things, the things that help me relax. I think I may also start blogging about my escapades in cooking, but that doesn't quite help me relax as much as it helps me live and not die. I guess that part will come out of convenience because I have to cook now that I don't have a dining hall at my disposal, and might as well blog it.
Anyways, in the habit of saving money, I've often DIYed lots of home decor stuff because I seem to have expensive taste but not the never ending pockets of cash that are a key requirement. I've done a lot of acrylic painting and DIY succulent holders, and I thought it would fun to start sharing it.

Happy 2018!
